Using The Power of Your Mind to Overcome Physical Ailments

The power of the mind is pretty immense (and intense). And the fact of the matter is that the body and its automatic functions keep us alive every single day, every single moment. We don’t have to think about the simple biological functions that are needed for us to make it through another hour… they’re just taken care of, effortlessly. The beauty of it is that most of the time it’s okay not to pay attention, because paying attention to the other tasks in life (that require the mind) takes precedence. And the body is actually happy to take care of the mundane living-tasks while we spend our attention elsewhere – this is its purpose.

Every once in a while, though, the body falls ill with something, and we are forced to pay attention. We must, of course, nurse it back to health with vitamins, extra rest, warmth, and the like. However, there’s an extra layer to the nursing that needs to be included for true and lasting success – the power of the mind. Our mind is all powerful when it comes to the matters of the body, and with an unwaveringly positive attitude great mountains can be moved.

Know that you DESERVE health, and always send love to yourself. Send love and positive thoughts to your whole body from head to toe, sending extra to the places that need it most. Truly feel yourself accepting this positivity, and allow it to radiate through you bringing renewed vigor. When you release negativity and only accept good thoughts, you are encouraging all the healing mechanisms in your body to work even more efficiently… this brings about total health much faster.

Chakras of the human body.
Chakras of the human body.

It’s important to recognize that the power of your mind works both ways… when you are harboring negative thoughts or grudges (for others or yourself) the body definitely starts showing physical signs. And just attacking the physical representations of your ailment(s) isn’t the only strategy, because nothing will be fully healed until you approach the brain’s aspect of it. Be open-minded and sympathetic, and most of all be understanding! The interconnection between mind, body, and spirit is so strong that complete healing can only take place when you acknowledge and handle every side of any illness. Take some time to truly heal the roots of any ailments you have, in a spiritual and mental sense.

Sometimes it’s not even necessary to delve really deep to spell it out, but accepting a wave of positivity as a replacement for unattended negativity is enough. What I mean is that sometimes all you need to do is finally dump the negative baggage, grudges, resentment, envy, and stress… Allow your body and mind to bask in a rainbow of positive rainbow golden light and allow negative things to just dissipate and exit, never to be seen again. Become a being of light, a candle in a world of darkness. Begin with yourself! Become the kind of person that only accepts positivity as a lasting emotion; the kind of person that is observant and present in every situation, knowing that with a clear and even-keel mind you only allow positive emotions to stay.

With this sort of mindset you will find that even the smallest of ailments are overcome in a much swifter way. Better yet, practice on the smaller ailments. Spend a few minutes when they’re available to repeat the exercise above… finally release this baggage that hasn’t been suiting you, and find yourself relaxing in new ways… You definitely deserve it, and so do those around you!

I’ve used this same method in conjunction with vitamins and extra rest to stay healthy through many flu seasons, and to overcome colds within two days when I do catch them. Try it sometime?

Thanks for reading!

Feeling Emotionally Drained Without Explanation???

Relationships sometimes are “acute stressors…[or] chronic stressors,” and this type of stress causes “changes in endocrine functioning” which can affect immune system function, and (ultimately) overall health. While it’s a study of marriage in particular, it shows that differences in how men and women react to aggression effect immune function and health/quality of life way down the road.
[Above paragraph paraphrased from This Study .]

Don’t allow yourself to get caught in a jar so to speak; your surroundings everyday determine your overall enjoyment of life. So are you happy and fulfilled…? Do you smile upon awakening for a brand new day?

jar_

Or are you sullen, depressed, sometimes reaching for a momentary escape from your daily circumstances???

Now, sometimes that’s the way you’re telling yourself that something should be changed…. and it’s definitely worth considering if you feel down often and fantasize about remedying things.
But, the flip-side is that it’s also possible your overall engaging of your life’s moments is what’s determining how situations turn out.

What are some ways to feel more fulfilled, even without leaving a job or a spouse?

The short answer is to work more on yourself, and tend to your innermost needs. Often other people (or circumstances or inebriants) aren’t the answer to what you seek to feel….
In my experience the most effective and swift method to feeling uplifted is to change the individual’s perception of the outside world.
So, for a little bit, or as a last-ditch effort, or even just for the sake of experimentation:
Perform the same daily functions for a while but with renewed vision. Use every opportunity to grow as a person and as a mature member of the worldwide social interaction network. And I don’t mean the internet – I mean the social interactions you have every single day with other people face-to-face, or with the various elements of life going on around you.
The more involved answer is: Drink in life, enjoy the tiny fleeting moments, find the utmost pleasure in little happiness-es. Shed any negative baggage you’ve held onto for no one’s benefit. Allow any negativities you encounter daily to just wash away and dissipate from your being, leaving you always feeling simple contentment at your core.

The Power of Consideration

Happy Groundhog Day!

Some people brush off the concept of consideration, thinking it has little bearing on daily life. The truth of the matter is that being considerate (aka thoughtful, kind, caring, and respectful) of others is one of the most wonderful and rewarding things you can do. The rewards are endless, because not only does a considerate attitude warm others to you, but it generally also improves your own quality of life from moment-to-moment.
Consideration is more than just getting along with others, attempting to jive with them, or just being nice. It’s niceness, but expanded further to think outside the box and at times foresee the needs of others.

So what makes considerate people stand out?

Of course, thoughtful and nice people are often working on their empathy and always expanding their worldview. They are compassionate for the world and people around them, and it shows in small actions. A strongly considerate person might perceive the opposite of this behavior to be selfishness, simply because of someone’s lack of empathy and compassion.

No-act-of-kindness

Kind and considerate people are thoughtful of others’ needs and desires. They have developed an intuitive understanding and often find themselves anticipating people’s requests or wants, before they are asked. The reason for this is that they’re in-tune with the world around them and also are always putting themselves in others’ shoes, so the little things are just a matter of logic. Considerate people have very strong extrapolation skills, as they are constantly using them to be nicer to those around.

Courteous people are often smiling, because they know positivity’s power! They smile at themselves in the mirror at various points in the day, but they are also always grinning at people just to brighten others’ day. They realize that something as simple as a smile (even when given to a stranger) is one of the strongest and easiest ways to improve multiple people’s day. This is one of the most basic principles of the consideration concept.

Thoughtful and respectful people utilize their manners and attempt to handle every situation with class. They are polite, which means NOT just listening to speak. They DO actually make eye contact when others are talking and truly pay attention to communications and the speakers’ underlying message. They also find themselves living by the ‘golden rule’ pretty much always, since the way they’d like to be treated is the perfect gauge for a polite way to treat others.

Just by being considerate, a person inherently practices selflessness. This means putting others first, but not always, because balance is the ultimate way to live life to the fullest. You can’t be treating others like gold and yourself like bronze! You must remain positive and continuously appreciate your own moment-to-moment in order to practice meaningful kindnesses.

The powers of being kind and considerate are many, as the energy you put out into the world always finds its way back to you.

A-Little-Consideration-Eeore

The only additional advice I have as you pursue the expansion of your version of Consideration, is this: Always maintain your self-respect. It’s important to be considerate of/to yourself, and this means never becoming a doormat. Just as with anything, moderation is key because not everyone deserves to be treated like diamonds and everything nice! Sometimes people are too far-gone into negativity, but that’s their battle. Even with them, just keep on smiling! Positivity is proven to be infectious. 🙂

Fending Off Negativity & Reworking Your Self-Talk

When we make little statements to ourselves or others about our well-being, monetary situation, or life circumstances we’re also communicating with our subconscious mind and that makes a lasting impression! Negative self-talk has bad ramifications that go far beyond what your imagination could convey.
Have you ever noticed yourself making seemingly inoffensive statements like: “I don’t have money to do…”; “I’m broke”; “I’m so stupid…”; “I’m being retarded right now”; “I’m boring”; or “I feel lousy”…???
Ever noticed yourself uttering ANYTHING along those lines?

Even though it might seem like an ice-breaker with certain people, or perhaps you believe you deserve to label yourself at certain times it is still a very unhealthy habit.
The truth is that these sorts of statements are self-fulfilling prophecies.
Perhaps you feel poor at certain times, or maybe you even feel silly for behaving a certain way. That’s perfectly normal, and every single person has experienced those same feelings at some point. The important part is to not be defined by these moments, because the first step to improving is to stop speaking to/about yourself in this way!

Feeling confident and attractive, as well as dancing with abundance are all qualities we seek to enjoy on a daily basis.
So how do we break down these self-made verbal barriers, and keep our eyes on the prize???

silencing the mind

Here are a few tips for changing this self-talk into positive statements, and experiencing the beauty and fulfillment you deserve:

1) Become aware of any negative statements you succumb to. Begin to pay attention to the EXACT wording that you use, and categorize every phrase (in regards to yourself and your situations) as positive or negative. When you come across a negative one, immediately say “erase, erase, erase” and purposely word the sentence differently. Even if you don’t do this at a noise level others can hear, it’s beneficial to you to formulate a re-wording. For example: let’s say you caught yourself saying “I’m broke right now”. A great re-wording would be to acknowledge that you work hard for your money and all your bills are paid, at the moment you just don’t have the funds to do something frivolous. Another re-wording might be that all the funds you need are available to you exactly when you need them, and you’re full of gratitude for how the universe takes care of you.

2) Utilize every opportunity you can to be thankful for your inherent abundance. Realize that as you pay more attention to your self-talk you become more powerful in regards to your deserving and positive destiny, and ABUNDANCE in every form is already on its way to you. Say “thank you” often, even if it’s just a whisper to yourself. This is a constant encouragement to this bountiful abundance that’s traveling towards you, and you’ll find you access it more often as a result.

3) Utilize every opportunity to be thankful for your overarching health. One of the richest things we can own in healthiness, and one of the most lovely things to realize is how much of it we truly have. Sure, sometimes you may feel under the weather or perhaps you catch a form of the flu; maybe you’ll even experience a more severe illness for a bit. The important part through it all is being thankful you’re around to breathe, to feel life’s natural highs, to appreciate all the complex inner workings of your body that keep you going every single second. Tune in to these wonderful truths and find your overall health always increasing, as you love to take care of (and cherish) the gift of everyday.

4) Sometimes the people around us can be negative influences in regards to self-talk. And sometimes it’s easy to have grown so accustomed to these negative handouts that they invade our space without any protective net to stop them. If this is the case, begin every day with a protective energetic shield of positive energy. The easiest way to accomplish this is to close your eyes and imagine the beautiful celestial light from above covering you (and enveloping you) from head to toe. It’s a positive and pleasant energy-force that anyone can access for themselves, to keep the often-negative world around us at bay. When you’re wearing this shield you’ll still be able to communicate with the outside world in the same manner, but you’ll be able to fend off any negativity people try to fling at you and it’ll fade away instead of being absorbed into your positive aura.

Hopefully these tips will help you progress on your journey to being more abundant, healthy, and FREE!!!!

Have a wonderful week. 🙂

Volunteering Has Health Benefits!

Happy New Year!
As we go into this new year, maybe you’re one of those that’s not vested in a ‘new you’ with new resolutions. Or maybe you are. Both are actually okay!
If you DO have goals you’ve written for yourself that apply to this new year, that’s amazingly wonderful and I hope beautiful circumstances just fall into place for those to be accomplished. 🙂
A topic I brought up last week is sometimes difficult to get a foothold in, and perhaps even difficult to find a beginning for as well. I’m referring to the concept of volunteering.

You might wonder where you’ll find the time or energy to give of yourself when there is no monetary gain to be had. And I think it can also be human nature to find it hard to start the process of something that has intangible results…
The fact of the matter is that gifting of yourself and your time has incredible and bountiful consequences.
I’ll give you an example. A co-worker at my part-time job has found his passion to be helping feed the needy. This morning he decided to do one of his monthly food-drive runs and began asking around to see if anyone had spare canned goods and the like. He just so happened to be speaking to one of the regular guests that comes in about it, and she said she knows of a spot that is only open Tuesdays and Saturdays that donates goods. So that was an interesting coincidence, today being one of the days they’re open. In addition, multiple other things fell into place very quickly that allowed him to just make three stops and gather up a huge amount of food. He described to me that it’s his life’s calling to be able to help feed people, and that it bothers him that people go hungry.

That’s the secret to finding the volunteer work that’s best geared towards you… Identifying core values that you have, and what makes you happy to help people with.
Maybe it’s clothes, and you’d prefer to donate your time to a thrift store or salvation army type establishment.
Maybe it’s even a love of books! Local libraries love to take on volunteers for a few hours here and there, to help with moving things around or running some of their extra-curricular events.
Maybe it’s with animals? Or something to do with community clean-up? Or at a local park?
The opportunities are literally endless, it’s just a matter of pinning down what would make you happy to gift others…
And that’s directly related to what you feel is important for people to have access to or be able to enjoy. Look deep and do a little soul searching, if it’s not immediately obvious.

volunteering hands

The benefits of gifting of yourself and volunteering your time or resources are many. Of course, there’s the sincere joy that comes of knowing you’ve brought happiness to others just because you could.
Your inherent compassion and kindness for others will just grow and grow, which also has countless benefits. Then there are the amazing connections you’ll make and people you’ll meet, which may just become very important in your life. And those are only a few of the lovely gifts you’ll get back for gifting of yourself, only a few hours a month (or more!). The universe will help things fall into place perfectly, and I find that it always rewards kind and compassionate behavior.

Maybe give volunteering a shot?
I hope you feel inspired. 🙂

Have a wonderful day, and thanks for reading!!!

4 Tips For A Revitalizing & Motivated New Year!

In this day and age years often pass without much second thought; time goes by and one year turns into another as though it was just another day.
But this year why not make it special? Why not close out 2015 with meaning, and manifest a truly meaningful new year?

There are a few things you can do that will really close this year out strong, and bring about the motivation and revitalization you seek.

First of all, tie loose ends. Finish unfinished business and set yourself straight with anything that’s been lingering. The ending year is the perfect time to get rid of enduring baggage and set the slate clean. Often there are simple things that have stayed on the to-do list for weeks (or months) that would be a sigh of relief to finally finish. Put aside some time in the next day or two to cross these things off the list!

Secondly, be of service. Volunteer somehow and gift your time (or resources) to those less fortunate. Sometimes it really doesn’t take much, but the positive ramifications can echo for a long time! Maybe you’ll even learn something along the way… If you’re at a loss for ideas, look up local nursing homes, homeless (or battered peoples’) shelters; perhaps even meals on wheels or a similar venture. A few hours spent gifting your time to people will go a long way and also increase your personal feelings of self-worth!!!

Third, go outside and visit with nature! Mental processes that have been whirling around and goals you have set for the coming months are strengthened by time outside. Put away your technology (or better still, turn it off) and just be with nature. Perhaps you have yet to truly set your goals for the coming year, and seek some guidance. Being outside, taking a walk, and allowing nature to communicate with you can be very helpful in these endeavors. Take some deep breaths and feel the energy that emboldens you filling your lungs. Allow the crisp air to bring you strength and motivation for charting the path to your goals.

Fourth, get in touch with your spiritual or religious roots. It doesn’t matter which religions or spiritual avenues ring loudest with you… All that matters is that you’re in touch with them. Some cultures have a gratitude ceremony for major turning points in the year, and if it feels right to you then incorporate that into your practice as well! I mention the strength of ‘thank you’ often, and another wonderful time to feel those benefits is when closing out one year and beginning the adventures of a new year! Learn some new things that have to do with your spiritual or religious beliefs, and allow this information to revitalize your meaningful connections.

new year in dubai

When it comes time for 11:59 to turn into midnight and beyond on Thursday night, perhaps you won’t be around a lot of people, or even partying at all. Know that’s perfectly fine, because ultimately it’s the motivation and energy that you feel that matters. Touch base with your base feelings and stride into the New Year with confidence, since this one will be the best yet!

Thank you for reading, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Self Esteem For Living The Dream

Confidence is sometimes a touchy subject, as many feel they have a healthy amount of it when the fact is they might not.
In my practice, I’ve found that often it’s the females that have the lowest self-esteem, as society has conditioned them into having unreasonable expectations. Magazines, beauty products, and media in general imply that there is a certain type that is ‘most attractive’ and any other type needs to become more that way. Males also sometimes have really low self-esteem, but usually for reasons that stem from conceptions of manliness and decades of suppressed emotions.

self esteem needs improving

Most people, in some form or another, could benefit from working on their feelings of self-worth.
Here are a few tips to help you improve your self-confidence:
1) Stand and sit straighter!
Hours of working on mobile devices or sitting incorrectly cause us to slouch. Slouching is a habit that is sometimes built over many years, and it can be hard to break. The truth is that it’s extremely unhealthy! It compresses the lungs and heart and causes the internal organs to not function at optimal performance. Make a conscious effort to straighten your back while standing AND sitting! If you work on it consistently, you should notice a change in your auto-pilot within a week or two.

2) Never apologize as a preamble.
Refrain from saying you’re sorry before saying something (unless it’s a genuine apology). Apologizing at the beginning of your sentences causes others to already (unconsciously) perceive your statements as lower on the totem pole. Instead, find other ways to express your desire to not bother people when you say things. It’s perfectly fine to say “excuse me” or “pardon me” to get someone’s attention, and there’s no need to apologize when you’ve done NOTHING wrong!

3) Never begin your questions with “this might be stupid…”
When you yourself call your statements dumb, it sends a very conscious message to the listener. If you need to ask a question or get something clarified, it’s perfectly respectable to do so, especially in a work environment. Generally speaking (unless people have had to repeat the same things multiple times) it’s looked upon as a positive thing for you to make sure you know exactly how to handle a situation.

amazing self esteem

Please acknowledge to yourself that you’re worth it!!!
Every single day is a beautiful opportunity to work on your self-esteem, and improve your quality of life!
I hope you’ll invest just a few moments a day to raise your confidence levels. I think you’ll notice the benefits immediately, in both your mental/physical health, and in the way that others treat you.

amazing self confidence

Overcome Rainy & Winter Blues

Welcome to December!
In many places where it’s still not too cold, we started this month with an onslaught of rain.
Whether it’s chilly or overcast (or both), sometimes the winter blues and emotional downs are hard to get over.

Perhaps it’s the lack of someone to cuddle up with, or the fact that the cold weather is just beginning and we have many months ahead before it gets warm again. Maybe it’s even the beginnings of flu-season that have worn down immune systems and caused the need for more rest. Perhaps it’s something else entirely, but it’s still difficult to overcome the sadness and unexplainable blues that are felt.

winter bluez vs greens

Well, the weather itself is impossible to overcome, as are some of the other circumstances that are simply out of our control. However, there are some things that remain in our hands and there are still measures we can take that help bypass any negative emotions!
So what are these miraculous solutions???

Here is a short list of things you can do to battle the winter and rainy blues:

1) Take immune-system strengthening supplements. Way too often our diets just aren’t enough when it comes to keeping the proper nutrient levels in the body. Great go-to supplements that I use year-round (and that help me stay healthy) are Vitamins C and D. Other great ones are A, E, and Zinc. If you seek natural energy-boosters, Vitamin B compounds work wonders! It’s possible to find these supplements in large quantities at any supermarket, but opt for the ones that are additive-, and gluten-free.

2) Change up your routines! Begin a new book, or go on a new type of adventure. Explore some place you’ve been wanting to go in nature, or just take yourself out to an exciting movie! If you don’t have a partner, don’t hesitate to take yourself out to lunch or dinner!!

3) Look into new hobbies that are immune to weather! The sense of accomplishment you’ll get from creative projects is sometimes hard to beat. It might even be as simple as rearranging the furniture in your house, or reorganizing your stuff.

4) Use this season to get rid of any garbage (literally) that may have piled up in your life. There’s no need to have physical junk laying around in your peripheral, making you feel even more down or off-center.

5) Finally, find any reason to smile. The positive energy that smiling sends to your brain is a natural buzz that you should be allowing yourself to enjoy many times a day!!!

I hope you find some of these tips useful, and that you begin to perceive the winter season as much more cheerful!

Thanksgiving Beaver Moon

Studies have shown time and again how helpful it is to be thankful. An attitude of gratitude helps elevate a person’s self-worth and appreciation of life. That, in turn, helps this person to permeate joy and happiness and share these positive feelings with those around them.

On Thanksgiving Eve this year, there is a full moon that the Native Americans dubbed Beaver Full Moon. The significance of this one is related to either beavers being around preparing for winter, or to let people know to put out traps so they could catch some for furs.
This year it just so happens to fall on the eve of a holiday that asks us to reflect on all the wonderful things in life.

full moon

I feel as though the timing is perfect, because when you’re grateful and positive you attract more positivity. And in this lovely full-moon time-frame, your thoughts and attractions will be stronger.

So in the next few days, do yourself a favor! Take just five or ten minutes and reflect on all the beauty and bounty in your life. Write a list if you like, or just mentally picture all the wonderful things.
Close your eyes for just a moment and feel the thankfull-ness in all of your body! If some of the things you listed were people, tell them they’re appreciated. It might make their day! 🙂

Thank you for all the beauty you bring to the world!!! May this Thanksgiving be a lovely holiday for you (and yours) this year, ushering in even more positivity and joy that compounds every day!

The Ultimate Wordless Dialogue

Imagine you’re stepping on the dance floor… and floating… flowing smoothly and gracefully to the beautiful tango melody.
All eyes are on you. You feel every beat; your body is moving in complete synchronicity.
You and your partner are dancing in unison, perfectly interpreting the music.

tango

For years I admired the graceful and beautiful dance of Argentine tango. Last fall, I had the opportunity to take my first basic class. Since then I’ve fallen under a spell… the spell and the allure of the Argentine tango. Since then, I’ve taken many workshops and classes nationally and abroad, and enjoy improving every single time.

I had an idea! Why not combine my two great loves — my research into the power of the subconscious mind, and the magic of this graceful and gorgeous dance…?
With my almost-thirty-year experience in helping people reach their ultimate potential easily and simply through their subconscious mind, I designed a powerful technique to help tango dancers advance swiftly in their practice.

With my method you will be able to relax easier and quicker and connect with your partner better. For the beginner, I’ll help you perfect your abrazo and learn to quickly relax your body into the right position.
For the leader, I’ll assist you with leading skillfully through the busy dance-floor while taking into account your partner, the music, and the dance environment. For the follower, I’ll guide you to more instantly and gracefully execute the lead while dancing to the beat. For the advanced dancer, my method will help you quickly move to increasing levels of perfection.
